The Min-Aqua Bats finally have said goodbye to those long lost days of summer 2014.

The official ski season ended a few months ago at the Aqua Bowl. At the end of September, Beef-O-Rama marked one of the last weekends with several Min-Aqua Bats wandering the shores and streets of Minocqua together.

Even after those days, there were hold outs and the dock was still in. The skiers and the dock helping the Aqua Bowl cling to the memories of a great 2014 summer. But alas, as the weather quickly turns to more winter than fall, all good things must come to an end. With the weather in mind, President Aaron Coleman, Vice President Zeke Fashingbauer, and long time member Wes Gabel finally pulled the dock with the help of Kozy Crane and Dock. As the last remnant of the Min-Aqua Bats summer 2014 season is pulled from the great shores of Lake Minocqua the rock wall is left uninterrupted and barren.

The Min-Aqua Bats now say goodbye to summer (and fall) 2014, we will always have the memories of the warm days of waterskiing as we all brace for the Winter season of the northwoods.

Old members come back and ski occasionally, so why can't we bring back old swim suits and wet suits?

Each year the Min-Aqua Bats put on a throwback show. In this show, both active and slightly less active members dress up in old swim suits and wet suits. Every year some crazy suit choices make their debut in the show. These crazy stylings help lead the way for another great time at the Aqua Bowl.

This year, we had some old members return for the throwback show and a throwback announcer, Michael Krueger. If you weren't there, check out the pictures in the 2014 Photo Album and photo globe from the great show!

The Min-Aqua Bats' goof act was out with a purpose a few shows ago. Armed with waterproof cameras they captured a multitude of pictures to help present the goof act's perspective of the show.

Do you ever wonder what people's faces look like during the classic popcorn toss?

Or, how about the classic water fountain skit from the jump's perspective?

Interested in seeing the bail jumper hit the ramp, from the perspective of the person on the ramp?

Check out all of these photos and more from the 2014 season in the Min-Aqua Bats 2014 photo album.

    And we're off!

The Min-Aqua Bats kicked off their 64th summer at the Aqua-Bowl on Wednesday June 19, 2013.

After some construction on the bleachers and slight modification to the lighting system over the off season the crowd gathered and the skiers assembled to kick off the season.

The first official show had its ups and downs but the potential for a great season shined through and we hope all the fans will continue to show up and come see the show as the potential becomes a reality through the 2013 summer!

Min-Aqua Bats current show director, Andrew Donahoe, made the trek to Green Bay, WI this past weekend to the annual Think Tank Waterski Conference where the state seeding meeting was held. The seeding meeting was not until Sunday so Andrew took in some clinics and caught up with other show skiers and former Min-Aqua Bats such as Tristan Hansen.

This year WI State will be split into 3 divisions instead of 2. The Min-Aqua Bats will be competing in Division 3 along with the Chain Skiers, River City, the Kwahamots, the Aqua Devils, Twin Bridge, the Aqua Skiers, the Chain Skimmers and Central, WI. To split the divisions from 2 to 3 a 3-year average of scores was utilized.

After gathering all the paperwork and submitting something akin to an intent to participate Andrew got the great honor of choosing our time slot last (our three year average has a 0 from 2010). With nothing to really choose the Min-Aqua Bats "chose" the 7am Friday morning time slot, first off the dock and we will be proud of it. Going early can have its own benefits, one primarily being the pristine water. But it is 12 hours before the standard show time.

So there it is ladies and gentlemen. Friday, July 19th 2013 at 7am. Block out your calendars and come cheer on the Min-Aqua Bats at the WI State tournament. The site is near Wisconsin Rapids and is hosted at South Wood County Park, Lake Wazeecha: Red Beach.

The end of season brings change at the Min-Aqua Bats. Try outs are held and new members are inducted and the ones that stick around get introduced to the crowd (pictured). Old junior members get credit for all their hard work by becoming senior members. And a new board of directors is elected for the upcoming year. With the end of the year also comes the culmination of a summer's skiing as the Min-Aqua Bats get to put some great acts on the water, such as our 3-2-3-2-3 pyramid.

The newly elected board is as follows:
    President - Christian Wahman
    Vice Presient - Aaron Coleman
    Show Director - Andrew Donahoe
    Treasurer - Connor Tedstrom
    Corresponding Secretary - Elin Wahman
    Recording Secretary - Austin Omelina
Board Member at Large - Brooke Berray

The attached pyramid photo was taken by current Min-Aqua Bats skier, Danny Smylie. (as with all news photos, to access the originals just click the image within the story)

Over twenty Min-Aqua Bats showed up to help out at the Lakeland Sharing Foundation charity event. The Min-Aqua Bats helped out by packing school supplies for various school children in need for the upcoming academic year. The Min-Aqua Bats' parents helped to coordinate the participation of the team in the event and raise money to purchase some of the school supplies.

After the event many Bats returned to the Aqua-Bowl for pizza and skiing on a warm Monday night. We would like to thank the Lakeland Sharing Foundation for providing us the opportunity to help out and thank all the members and parents for putting in the time to make the event a success.

More than thirty Min-Aqua Bats traveled to Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday evening in preparation for skiing their state show at 7am on Friday July 20th. After waking up at 5am (an odd hour for many Bats), the team was on site by 6am for meetings and preparation prior to the 7am show.

The show kicked off with triple three tier pyramids followed by many of the acts skied by Bats every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at the Aqua-Bowl. The comedy act was a Min-Aqua Bats rendition of Hillbilly Handfishin'.

Thanks to all the fans and parents who came down to State to watch the show at such an early time. We appreciate the continued support!
